A Bilateral Renal Agenesis interview .

Alicia's interview

How did all start?

In 2009 at my routine 20 week ultrasound the baby did not show any kidneys, nor a bladder. My husband and I decided to end the pregnancy at 22 weeks. We had multiple tests and everything came back normal. Fast forward to 2011 we are pregnant, and 20 week ultrasound came. Kidneys and bladder were seen in the ultrasound, we were told this is a healthy baby. I delivered baby girl at 39 weeks, once born baby was diagnosed with a heart defect, once she was elevated there was one 1 kidney. Baby girl passed at 6 weeks old, due to heart defect, and also kidney failure. Move ahead to 2013 pregnant, and expecting the worst. 20 week ultrasound shows no kidneys, and no bladder. Termination of pregnant at 22 weeks. Multiple testing and genetic appointments returned no results, everything normal. Today 7/30/2018 I am 13 weeks pregnant!! Hoping for the best out come.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

NO diagnosis, after multiple testing was told, it was a fluke.
