How did all start?
Hurting my knee.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
5-6 months can't remember exactly!
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Had a stim put in, had it taken out. Leads kept moving didn't help me. Medication, prayer and my family have kept me going.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Being in a support group
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Learning that I am not the same person I was before and I can not do what I used too
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
My husband and a few friends have been very supportive. I have lost friends and family bc they don't want to face that I am not going to ever have a cure.
What things have you stopped doing?
Many outdoor activities and I have to use a cane.
What do you think about the future?
I'm scared
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
1997 I got married❤️ 1990 I had my first son 2001 I had my wonderful daughter.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Go hiking, running, mountain biking... a lot of thing I wish I could do with my family..... quit cancelling on plans bc I hurt too much!
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Painful and scary
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Just trust in God. Always do your own research on meds, surgeries etc don't trust anyone to decide what's best for you! Go with your gut!
