Story about Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome .

Raelyns Journey

Dec 26, 2015

My name is Raelyn Hollins. I am 2 years old. When I was born the doctors thought that I had a seizure, so I was sent to a bigger hospital to be monitored in the NICU. Many tests were performed on me. A geneticist came up with the diagnosis of Rubinstein- Taybi Syndrome. Not knowing too much about it, as soon as my parents got home, they did lots of research, and found support groups online. I am legally considered blind in 1 eye. I still mostly jabber, but can say several words. I am still not walking, but can crawl and pull myself up. I have physical therapy 3 times a month, vision therapy twice a month, and speech therapy once a month. I see an opthamologist and geneticist twice a year, My favorite song is Wild Thing by The Troggs. I love books and love to be snuggled and sang to. I may be little but I am very fiesty to make up for it.
