Luciano Scariano's interview

How did all start?

Started in kindergarten as I always had some kind of back pain. Went to doctor when becoming a teen and was told I had mild scoliosis, and when I turned 22 my fiance got me to the doctor and they diagnosed me with Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

Took me 3-4months to get diagnosis from when I contacted the doctor to get help.

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

Rehumatologist and the pain clinic has done me great.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

Nothing yet, still searching for something to help me.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Losing my job after 5years since I can not do the work with my condition.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

Nothing changed, they are very helpful with me.

What things have you stopped doing?

Lifting heavy things, doing any house chores in one day but I need over a week to do it.

What do you think about the future?

Hope to get a job and become more active again.
