Story about Pancreatitis .

Sick but don't feel sorry for me

May 25, 2017

Disabled veteran here, 21 years sober and smoke free. Gall bladder issues caused my first pancreatitis attack November 2012, and it's been steadily getting worse since then. 14 hospitalizations for acute attacks, multiple ERCP with splints and a sphincterotomy to help my pancreas drain. Most of my pancreatic tissue has calcified, and I've also had multiple pancreas stones. At this point, I'm scheduled for TPIAT end of June.

Through all the struggles I've gained so much. My faith and marriage is so much stronger, as is our relationships with our children. All my finances are still in good order because of my military pension and disability, and my kids get education benefits through the VA. And the VA is going to cover ALL my surgery costs. I know I'm really fortunate, and I thank God for it. If I died tomorrow, my wife is taken care of and my kids have a life perspective that few seem to have.

if I can be a blessing in any way, please feel free to message me on Facebook or through this Diseasemaps app.
