Yoran's story

Dec 2, 2

Yoran is diagnosed with Dravet's syndrome at the age of 20 months. His first seizure happened at the age of 3 months, the second at 4 months and then the third at 9 months. After that the number of seizures increased to every 10 days. These were all incl. hospitalizing and in 90% of cases also children's ICU. At the age of 4 the frequency of seizures went down. He is now 11 and does not have very many seizures anymore. Only with fever and when he is really active when it is warm.

Yoran's development is on average at the age of 1,5 years. In some areas his development is higher in others lower.

His medication is Depakine, Taloxa and Frisium. He used to have Topamax instead of Taloxa but with that medicine his bones became brittle, so we changed to Taloxa. Looking at the number of seizures, this combination seems to be the right one for Yoran.

For the rest, Yoran loves to cuddle, to build blocks, do puzzles (wooden) and watching tele (e.g. Teletubbies). And he is always cheerful.
