Susanne's interview
How did all start?
It started with pain in my right arm first and then in my left when I was about 10 years old.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
I got my diagnosis when I was 18 so it took 8 years to get it.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
I’ve got about 22 operations. About 6 in my right arm and the rest in my left arm.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
When I got my wrists stiff I was without pain for a while.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Accept of the pain.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
My family is very supporting.
What things have you stopped doing?
All kinds of sports.
What do you think about the future?
I’m afraid that I’ll have to stop at work in the nearest future.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
From 0 - 10 and from 26 - 37. First I was a child and in the second period I had my children
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Live a more active life.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Difficult but worth it.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Don’t get operated by any doctor but see a specialist.
