Story about Parkinson .

Irony

Jan 16, 2016

By: Audie

My vocation:  neuropsychologist.  I had assisted in the diagnosis of and assessed people with PD for years.  Yet, PD has no exemptions so all my training and experience in the neurosciences didn't prevent me from getting this disease.  That was almost 12 years ago.  Now it's a daily struggle managing the numerous symptoms of this insidious disease.  Yet, I have hope:  in the meds, research for a cure, and that I know I'm much more than this disease.  It does not define me. I am a person free to experience life, love and be loved, who just happens to have PD.
