Katy's interview
How did all start?
When I was 15 I only ever had one period so my mum took me to doctors after a while they decided to do am ultrasound to see why I wasn't regular I was diagnosed shortly after.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
It actually didn't take too long to get diagnosed for me maybe a week or so. It's the care and everything afterwards that I struggled with as no one could explain what it was to me.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
The internet great for support groups of people in the same boat and also it is alot more helpful for information.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
My weight I am still struggling with it now, with pcos it's even harder.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
My family have become a bit more uptight about me loosing weight but that's about it.
What things have you stopped doing?
Going on nights out due to social anxiety and my weight.
What do you think about the future?
Watching my daughter grow up
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
2015 was my best year I was blessed with my gorgeous daughter this year
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Loose weight faster so would probably have more energy to do more with my daughter and go out on walks more.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Stressful, but worth it.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Just don't loose hope there are lots of support groups filled with helpful women going through the same thing. You are not alone in this.
