A Pulmonary Fibrosis story

Dec 2, 2

After suffering for 3 years I was very lucky to receive a double lung transplant. I have had 2 small bouts of rejection but on the whole I haven been exceedingly lucky. I still get tired and have to nap 3-4 times a week in the afternoon but I am also getting older. Was nearly 61 when I received the transplant and am now 63. All the pills are hard on my kidneys so have to see a kidney specialist twice a year but after changing one of my anti rejection drugs my kidney function has improved.

I now try to get back by mentoring others waiting for transplant and also giving talks on organ donation. Without it I did not have very long left to live when I got the call. Was sleeping about 15 hours a Day before transplant.
