Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis

Sep 24, 2019

By: Vanessa

Year Condition Began: 1976

I was first diagnosed at the age of 9. I started off with normal surgery & went on to have laser but because of a build up of scar tissue, I now have micro-debridement. I have had 82+ surgeries (I gave up counting at one stage). They Started off on average every 3 months. After my daughter was born I went 8 years without surgery but then it averaged out about once a year. When I was pregnant with my son, it sort of went the opposite way. I had an operation whilst pregnant, one soon after he was born and another soon after that. It has currently been 2 years since my last op but I am due another one soon.
