How did all start?
My daughter went pale and lethargic all sudden and it began from there.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes, it took 5.5 weeks to diagnose
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
We are under the care of a pediatric rheumatologist and he is very good.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
As it has only been 8 months since diagnosis, meds are still changing. The best thing is having our clinical nurse avail to call anytime.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
My daughter stuggles with energy and sore legs.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
No, we treat her as normal as possible and social and family environment is very understanding and supportive.
What things have you stopped doing?
My daughter stopped dancing and gymnastics as she found it too tiring. She misses a lot of school also due to nausea, headaches and leg pains.
What do you think about the future?
It is scary and unknown i guess... we just take each day as it comes and are making sure we are enjoying life..
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
Since diagnosis, we have been on a lot more holidays as we realise we must live for today, not for the future.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
My daughter would love to get back into dancing and just having the energy to play like she use to
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Fun, full of love, living life to the fullest.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Be positive, live life even if it means debt... we only live once
