A Tarlov Cyst interview .

Gkon's interview

How did all start?

Looking back I developed symptoms around the age of 15.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

I have 3 MRI reports in which they are mentioned but not recognized as symptomatic.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

Maintaining a stable core by doing excersises. Stay out of the sun.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Standing and slightly bend positions like mountainbiken. I only use a normal E-bike.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

No, but with small tricks I can manage almost everything so far.

What things have you stopped doing?

I only watch half a game or less of my sons footballgames. I don’t go out if I can’t sit there.

What do you think about the future?

They have been stable for at least the last 10 years, probably always. I hope it stays that way.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

I guess the years since I know; the last 5 years because I read a lot about it and managed my life around it.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

More social interaction if I can stand everywhere for a long time. Help out at my kids sport activities.

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Focus on what you can do. Exercise, stay out of the sun.
