Story about Tarlov Cyst .

Hope.

I fell from a horse 4 years ago landing on my tailbone and after an X-ray they could see I had bent it! After several weeks of chiropractic treatment I was back in the saddle and felt fine. Then in feb 2015 I I had a fall whilst skiing. It was particularly dramatic but I knew instantly I had seriously hurt myself. I struggled home without treatment and even worked for a couple of days (firefighting) but things were getting worse so off to A&E I went. I had so many visits to GPs, physios, back specialists and alternative therapies but nothing helped. After an MRI they picked up on a tarlov cyst but instantly disregarded it...3 specialists and the radiologist said that they are to be ignored. However the rest of my spine was in good shape and after researching tarlov cysts I realised that I needed more help. So I contacted Adrian Casey a neurosurgeon in London. I had a consultation and another MRI and he has now offered me surgery. I'm very nervous about it to say the least but feel I don't have any other option. A life in constant pain and on drugs which have nasty side affects is not a life I can cope with. So now I'm awaiting for a date to be operated on which has given me some hope.
