Story about Fibrous Dysplasia .

Diagnosed at 40 years old

Dec 19, 2015

By: Sandy

After suffering with chronic pain for almost 2 years I finally got a diagnosis of Fibrous Dysplasia of the skull. I have a very large lesion in the back of head that goes all the way across the occipital bone. Doctor explained that it wraps around my spinal canal. Surgery is too risky and was given a 50% chance that it would help with the pain so I just take it a day at a time which so far has worked, although it is frustrating. Don't really want that bone removed and replaced with my rib bone if it might not help. So I just deal with it the best I can with the help of the good Lord my Savior and my FD family in the support group. :)
