Choriocarcinoma in 2014 from complete mole with surviving twin

Jan 27, 2016

By: Cindy

My baby was born full term and I wasn't diagnosed until she was 4 months old and after 12 hours of tests and misdiagnosis of a miscarriage,  a heavy menstrual cycle or another pregnancy. After I had a massive hemorrhage, one dr ordered a stat bhcg level. My levels were over 221,000. I had possible mestasis to right lung and begun chemo 2 days later. I had 4 rounds of Methotrexate, failed, and 8 grueling rounds of ema-co. I had 2 blood transfusions in my journey and a uti, to name a few. The only symptom that I had were contractions and then intermit bleeding. It's suspected that the choriocarcinoma was fully gestated around 24-27 weeks into my pregnancy. I'm still being monitored today. My baby will be 3 years old this September.
