How did all start?

Numbness left foot started to drag about 7 years ago. Found a posterior fossa arachnoid cyst on the brain stem.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

Yes, 6 years

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

Neurologist and neurosurgeon

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Neck pain and Cape-like syndrome extreme pain across the shoulders down the arms

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

Great very supportive

What things have you stopped doing?

Golf, walking limited due to weakness in the legs everything takes extreme effort

What do you think about the future?

Since the syrinx is up near the brain stem along with the existing arachnoid cyst surgical options very limited. I anticipate years of pain

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

Wonderful family life, great job while dealing with chronic headaches and extreme sometimes debilitating pains.

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Find a good neurologist and find out a medicine combination that gives you relief.
