Difficulty swallowing bread. Hiccups when I drank alcohol.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Getting diagnosed. No doctor was familiar with it.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

I became very weak and avoided social situations. Almost back to normal now.

What things have you stopped doing?

Eating some fruit, bread.

What do you think about the future?

Future looks bright

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

All have been good and purposeful.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

Nothing I can't do now

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

So grateful to be alive and have advanced medical care that allowed me to get better.

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

First of all, be persistent with getting diagnosed and treated. Get a POEM.
