Story about Achalasia , Hashimotos Disease.

My Achalasia

Oct 19, 2017

Year Condition Began: 2016

I started with strong chest pains in January 2016, like a heart attack. My doctor gave me Gaviscon Advance which helped me (and still helps) so I proceeded with my life.
Then the first difficulties in swallowing. I needed to eat so slowly trying to chew the best as I can. I did a gastroscopy in November 2016, negative. But the problem grew againg so I did a swallow dynamic study in February 2017, negative. Then like in a circus: otorhinolaryngologists, neurologists, thyroid eocgraphy, brain magnetic resonance while my doctor said "you need to live with that, now it is your new life, you need to live together with this symptons cause you won't heal. You are stressed, maybe a psy". I felt so angry, so sad.
But a close friend of mine who is a doctor believed me cause in July I started to regurgitate every single food or liquid. 10 times a day, 2 times a night. It cant be a question of psy! After 5 days in a hospital for dehydration, the diagnosis: achalasia.
Now I am waiting for the surgery, sure my life will change. Maybe not the same as before, but better than now. I am 46 kg, in a hungry perpetual state, can't drink water while eating my soups or fish pieces. I have lots of ice creams and Nutella but I am longing for a pizza or a tagliatella.
