How did all start?
Incidental finding with food poisoning.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes, 1 year of protocol CT scans, cysts on both adrenals. Rt. resolved, Left turned into ACC.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Oncologist, Surgeon, Endocrine. Surgery and Endocrine.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Mitotane
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Fatigue, nausea
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
Family and friend support, no changes.
What things have you stopped doing?
Nothing, although I did have to retire d/t post op surgical complications from ankle repair.
What do you think about the future?
So far so good, it pretty much is what it is.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
2013, 14 and 17. My daughter got married and my 2 grandchildren were born.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
I pretty much have no restrictions because of ACC except for the fatigue and it's managable.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Satisfied
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Take one day at a time and do not be afraid to accept help.
