How did all start?
I had a doctor that thought he knew what he was doing and it turned out he didn’t. He nicked the thecal sac.

Yes I have a diagnosis and it took about a year to get it.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
I have seen a neurosurgeon and a doctor that specialized in spinal diseases. She’s a anesthesiologist and she had a catastrophic injury to her arm and this made her want to help people with injurys
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
To be honest was pt that helped the most but it was at my injury specialist office.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Trying to sleep with the pain. And finding exactly what to use like heating pad, tens unit or pain medication
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
Well I haven’t been able to do some of the things as I used to do like going for walks, walking the dogs. Teaching my daughter to ride a bike. And even though my family say things haven’t changed but I notice they don’t ask me to do things a lot.
What things have you stopped doing?
I’ve stopped going for long walks, window shopping. And doing things alone in general.
What do you think about the future?
I try not to think about the future I try to take it one day at a time.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
The best years was when I got pregnant with my daughter while having Arachnoiditis. I felt less pain carrying her. But when I had her most of my pain came back.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Go for a hike. I haven’t done that in ages. And being able to do housework with out stopping every ten mins to sit because of my back hurting.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
My life is a painful life however I do have instances of happiness in my life that make me happy.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Do t give up hope. And don’t let your doctor tell you they can’t do things for you, they work for you.
