A Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / M.E. interview .

Niki's interview

How did all start?

I got a horrible virus in high school.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

Yes. Nine years.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

My biological family has written me off as crazy. However, my wife and the family she and I have made together has been very supportive to both she and I. We tackle all new hurtles together as a team and financially we support eavh other.

What things have you stopped doing?

I used to be quite athletic and fit, now I am bed bound so I am unable to enjoy mountain climbing and such things. However, I have found new creative hobbies.

What do you think about the future?

I think as long as I fight to stay connected in my relationships the future looks to be full of love and hope.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

The year I met my wife because I was falling in love and my body was at its peak.

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

I am blessed with as much love in my life as I lack in physical ability.
