How did all start?
Severe tooth pain all the teeth on the left side of my mouth
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes. Only three months to diagnose. I was in ER 6 times in three months... finally got lucky and they called in the same on call Neurologist twice in a row.... he remembered me.... finally asked the right questions and I gave the right answers....
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Episodic CH. Cycles Spring and Fall...... Pure oxygen with re-breather mask. 15L for 15 minutes... Imitrex (I use nasal inhalent.)..... and I take Verapamil 240mg everyday.. year round.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
The above combination.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Explaining this crazy affliction to others.....
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
Very supportive..... no changes.w
What things have you stopped doing?
When I am in cycle I rarely leave my home... my Spring and Fall cycles last from 10 days to 2 weeks. 3-4 headaches a day.... each lasting 30-60 minutes. Very predictable... about 8 hours apart typically.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
I have a great life. Only diagnosed 2.5 years ago. I am 64 years old.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Lol.... spend more quality time with my grandchildren.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Full... wonderful.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Join a support group. They are a life savers.
