It took many months to be definitively diagnosed. After being referred to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, it was confirmed as Cogan’s Syndrome. Prednisone, methotrexate, and eventually, Rituxan infusions allowed me to finally put it into remission. Lost my hearing in the right ear, suffered extreme vestibular imbalance and had to “learn” how to walk again. Only residual effects are constant tinnitus in the right ear, occasional vestibular imbalance, and a few G.I. issues. Otherwise, I’m holding steady, no pun intended.
