How did all start?

AUGUST 30 2000 A work place injury to left wrist.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

Ive been diagnosed aince Nov 2000 however I couldnt get treatment as wsib denied my claim.

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

Various blocks PT CBT Various surgeries Prescription medications Marijuana Hydropool therapy Assistive devices Service dog

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

Ketamine infusions have been most helpful, and knuckle replacements/wrist fusions to release lasting contractions. Assistive devices and marijuana oil My newest help is my service dog! He helps emotionally and physically

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Mobility from contractions and dealing with my PTSD caused by wsib and pain.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

My family isnt as hekpful as needed, however my husband is amazing so I know I am one of the lucky ones. I have severe anxiety dealing with the public, but having my SD Helps so now I go out without my husband.

What things have you stopped doing?

I can no longer enjoy the things previous my diagnosis however I have found new things to spend my time doing ie training my Service Dog, becoming a Movie critic etc

What do you think about the future?

Some days I can see a good future, but most of the time I try not to look past the day as I never know when I will be laid up with foot and ankle contractions/ body tremors or for how long. Last one lasted 10 months.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

2002 gave birth to my son 2003 got married 2009 wsib accepted my claim 2013 wsib started supplying assistive devices 2017 bought a house and got my service dog

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

Hunting Skiing and ice fishing Travel more Zip lining Just being more active over all Keeping a cleaner more organized home Go out more

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

Very home based

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Dont give up, be proud of YOUR accomplishments no matter how small they may seem they are yours! Try to live YOUR life not the life you think others think you should live!
