Eine Aortendissektion Geschichte

07.01.2016

At night of the 10th of October 2015, I just had gone to bed, I felt a slight poking in my upper back. I thought I might have a tight muscle which causes the pain, so I got upwent outside to get some fresh air and relax m muscles. But instead of disapearing, the pain became more in a drastical way. It became so powerful around my upper back and chest, that I hardly was able to move my lung-support-muscle - the diaphram - and had the feeling I suffocate. I told my girlfriend - with the bit breath I had - to call an ambulance. I had allready since I don't know how long - probably since childhood - high bloodpressure, so I asumed with this terrible pain that I had an heart-attack. The ambulance came reatively quick for the fact that I live in a very small village and they put me right away on an ECG. That showed that it was no heart-attack and the medic was a bit more relaxed. My pain was still horrible and even the the pian-killer the medic injected me did not help. So they drove me to the next Hospital what is about 30min away. With the waiting for the ambulance it was now about 1hour since it had been started. In the Hospital they gave my a Lysis-Therapy because they thought about an Ling-emboly. Luckywise they made a X-ray and an CT-Scan pretty soon because they was going already to send me home again after they thought the lysis-therapy did its job. Just that my pain would not become less despite all the analgetica (pain-killer) they had injected me made them wonder. In the CT-Scan they discovered my dissection typ b and from now things went very different than before. First i was just laying on a examination-cot, now they put me in a real bed and prepared me so I had not to get up anymore - what they prohibited me instandly. They were very worried and told me my contition is critical and that they transport me to the next University Hospital with an Helicopter. I live in Portugal - the sunshine-state of europe - at this night there was so much fog that the Helicopter could not take off!! So they tranported me with an ambulance to the University Hospital of Coimbra, which they did very quick ... felt like Michael Schumacher was driving that ambulance :) In Coimbra they made another CT-scan and I came in intensive-care for about a week. The pain did not fade away even they gave me the strongest analgetica they had ... besides morphin and opium ... well then I got something it took the pain away but made me very tired and gave me very very strange dreams, which was quite shocking and scary - like a horror trip. It was hard for me to cope whith that. After one week in intenive care I came in a normel hospital-room. The pain in my back was not so bad anymore and could be handled with normal painkillers ... very strong "normal" painkillers btw. After another week in that room I could go home. In the beginning I was very weak, had to lay most the time in bed and when I got up I used a stick to walk, like an old man. I still had strange and scary dreams - and mostly at night - strong pain in the back, so I was afraid of going to sleep, what made me even more tired besides the medication and the low bloodpressure I was not used to. But soon I started to accompanied my girlfriend on the walks with our dogs - very slow and maybe a couple hundred meter. Today I make a "round" with the dogs of about 2km and just uphill I have to fight with pain in the hip at the right side I still don't know where it comes from. But I fight it and I win ... I get up the hill ... slow but steady and better with the time. I still have a bit pain in the back after doing things like cleaning in the house or sometimes after walking around but I can handle this pain and if I lay down it goes away quick. Btw.they found also that I have an aneurysma in the ascendenting aorta, which is right now is no problem but needs Observation. That is my story. I am concerned about my future and what can maybe heal again. I believe that our body can do magicle things and I really hope for something like that. I am vegan anyway but now I have even more specified my diet. I take homöopathic remedies to my other medication and hope for the best.
