How did all start?
Age 5 1982 May 5th.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes. My aunt who is an Rn came to visit and told my parents to take me to the Dr
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Type 1 diabetes, neuropathy, gastroparesis, trigger fingers, carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetes makes life hard!
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
My insulin pump and CGM
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Insulin resistance and it not being known about in type 1 diabetes back in the 1980's and 1990's
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
I am divorced due to a blackout drunk who said my diabetes was a 3rd person in our marriage he couldn't handle!
What things have you stopped doing?
Nothing in life slows me down!
What do you think about the future?
Well it is promising
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
The last 2 years by far have been the best! I have a best friend and partner in life who supports me in everything!
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Get my pilots license, like my grandparents had!

How do you describe medical chaos?
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Do Not Ever Give Up! It is a choice every morning whether you are happy! Make the right choice!!!
