How did all start?
A DVT in my lower right calf from travel on an Air plane
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes I do and it only took a few days
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Hematology, cardiologist, neurologist, vascular, and OB/GYN and Hemotology is of course the most useful
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Lovenox and my flexi touch machine
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Swelling and the after pain
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
I don't get out as much but my family is very helpful
What things have you stopped doing?
Show jumping, hiking, military training
What do you think about the future?
It will end soon
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
My best years were when I was 18 before being diagnosed. I was riding and training horses plus training to serve my country
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Have my own horse training facility and an Barn for therapy with horses
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Many ups and downs
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Hold your family close, educate your family without scaring them. Live life to the fullest.
