Radiation 4th June 2009 to 22nd July
Start chemo 12th August 2009 finished 11/12/09
I will got between 4 to 6 lots of Docetaxel and Cyclophosphamide and they
Also gave me a steroid called dexmethsone to take over 3 days the day b4 day
Of and day after chemo as well as zofran that I am meant to take 2 times a
Day for the next 2 days for nausea as well as maxolon for anytime required

Thought it was a infection way back so why stuff me about then ?

ok so I was diagnosed with Breast cancer in Late october 2008 had a lumpectomy in December 2008 I noticed about 2 days after my op a horrible smell emanating from under my arm where they removed my lymph nodes . it smelt like rotting meat i could smell it as could my visitors , but for some reason the dr's and nursing staff couldn't smell it and ignored my pleas to check it out . then on day 7 ( i was still in hospital ) the dr said he wanted to have a look at what was going on with my under arm ( finally ) but he wanted to undo a few stitches while on the ward , I was hell no you can knock me out and do it in a operating suite , which they did .. When I come too the Dr said to me it was just as well they did it in the op suite . because when they opened the top stitches the internal ones had given way and the wound just fell open because the skin was rotting so they had to Debride it 7cm down and 10 cm up .. if they had listened to me maybe things would have been different .
Around February 2009 the breast I had the cancer removed from was swelling up with fluids they kept telling me it was infections while treating me with all sorts of drugs for infection they were also siphoning off fluid from my breast this and having a vac pack under my arm to heal my under arm put chemo and Radiation on hold .. by August 2009 I still had not had any treatment ,then was told I wouldn't be given any chemo or radiation as I had gone by the optimal date of when they like to give treatment .. I asked my oncologist what were my chances without chemo or Rads and was told not great actually really poor , so I asked him if I was his mother sister Aunty wife or daughter what would he want to happen .. he said Oh i would tell them to demand treatment ... So I said to him that's what I want too cause I am not ready to lay down and die right now . so I started Radiation 4th June 2009 to 22nd July 2009
Started chemo 12th August 2009 finished 11 December 2009 after 6 rounds in between all that I had many picc lines and a portacath inserted also had a anaphylactic reaction to a drug called vancomycin .. which I Find really weird as I had been on a vancomycin drip for a month and had no issues .

Story behind picc line on 24th September 2009
My arm is so swollen I can blearily open and close my fingers ..so I am
Wondering if this picc is going to be ok or die on me but I can tell u one
Thing I wont be letting them put in another picc at redcliffe hospital and I
Will tell them that too cause never b4 have I ever had a bruise or been in
Any pain from a picc line being put in ... I will tell u why its so sore
They put picc's in under ultrasound ok so when the Dr was putting it in
Instead of threading it in to the vein he was threading it alongside the
Vein not in it I kept saying its hurting cause I knew it shouldn't be
Hurting then he says where is it hurting I said my arm so he says oh ok well
I know I haven't hit a nerve cause u would feel it in your hand ..well about
5 min's later I got like a electric shock started in my middle finger and
Went through my whole body it lifted my whole body off the bed and made me
Yelp really loud he was looks like I hit a nerve ,mate I was in tears by this
Time then he was I cant push this in any further do a Xray it was then he
Seen he didn't even have it in a vein so he pulls it out and finds a new
Vein the whole time he was pushing really hard on my arm probably why I am
So bruised .. But the guy was a bloody butcher he didn't care or listen when
I said it was hurting and I know it shouldn't have hurt me at all .. If he
Had listened he might have worked out he was doing something wrong ..then
When they finished the nurse gave me a spiel on how I need to look after the
Picc as if getting a infection is something I planed on getting ...
That was Thursday, on Friday my arm was swollen I thought it was cause the
Butcher traumatized my arm so badly the bruise was almost the whole length
Of my arm well by Saturday my arm was so sore and swollen I couldn't make a
Fist or bend my wrist or elbow and my fingers were blue and cold so I had
Christy ( my daughter) take me to redcliffe hospital I figured since redcliffe were so damn
territorial about picc lines ect they could bloody well deal with it ..well
we got there and go straight in see a Dr he looks at my arm I tell him how
it come to be swollen .. He then try's to find a pulse but couldn't so he
gets another Dr too try but no he cant either so they pinch my fingers they
stay white there is no blood return , you could see from the look in the Dr
s faces they were both a tad worried so I was sent on to the royal Brisbane
At the royal just after midnight I had a ultrasound guess what ..it wasnt even in a vein it was in a artery and the picc had
caused a DVT so the picc was pulled out and it hurt every bit as much coming
out as it did going in .. Now I been told I need to be on Clexane for however long groan


Vancomycin story
Come to hospital today was meant to be day surgery to have my portacath
put in. So I arrive at the hospitals day surgery area I was admitted a nurse comes to take me down stairs to the place where they put the ports in . before we leave the day surgery recovery area she says to me have you ever had vancomycin ? I was yeah I was on a vancomycin drip for a whole month .. to which she said mmm I might wait till we get to the lift then give it to you , we got to the lift she was mmmmmmmmmmmmmm might wait till we get out of the lift , we get out and she was you know what i think I will wait till we are at the operating suite so we get there she starts the drip and ..a few seconds in I
Didn't feel so good I was finding it hard to breathe it felt like a huge
Weight was resting on me and face went bright red ...I said to the nurse
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh I don't feel well at all she runs round to the drip and stops
It by this time there was about 10 Dr's and nurses around me doing stuff to
Me giving me fernergin , O2 and adrenalin next they sent me to ICU to be
Monitored spent a few hours there then I was sent back to the day ward to
Be sent again for my port insertion ..finally got the port but had to stay
in hospital over night to be watched in case I had a relapse . In more
detail ....
It was weird ,odd and freaky all at the same time I didn't really feel bad
while it happened .. I was told yesterday morning when I seen the Dr that
it was a severe reaction and that not only did my BP plummet so did my heart
rate which is why they gave me the adrenalin ..thing is I felt fully alert
and I knew what was going on the whole time ..tho I still can only surmise
how all the Dr's and nurses come to be around my bed I guess someone hit a
call button tho I didn't see who or where or when but I know the ppl who was
in the waiting room where all this took place were looking on going wow
what's happening I was pretty much thinking the same thing too lol then I
heard a Dr talking on a phone to ICU telling them I was going up there ,I
was getting pretty drowsy by then tho from the fernergin .. I was barely
awake when I got to ICU and shortly after I was asked all sorts of questions
I slept the rest of the time there. I later went back to the day surgery
ward to return for round 2 of getting the port in this time I got past the
waiting room and got the port .. Wasn't to bad went back to day ward and was
later on found a bed on a regular ward where I stayed overnight in case I had a relapse
