Ann's interview
How did all start?
It was identified as I was having tests prior to LASIK vision correction in 2011. I had no symptoms at the time.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes. Immediate
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Corneal transplant
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Getting knowledge from fellow sufferers and attending Moorfields Eye Hospital in London
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Blurriness and being unable to drive at night over the past two years
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
N/a
What things have you stopped doing?
Driving at night
What do you think about the future?
Optimistic
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Fulfilled but maybe too busy at times
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Get a transplant sooner rather than later. There’s no benefit to delaying it and it could make a positive outcome less likely
