I had been battling chronic fatigue for a few years and it got worse each year. After many visits to doctors with no real answers, I was about to just give up and attribute it to being middle-aged. I was talking to my brother one day and mentioned my fatigue. He asked me to get checked for Hemochromatosis as he and our grandfather had been diagnosed with it. I had never heard of it before that day let alone know how to spell or pronounce it. So, I had my Dr test me fo it. A few days passed and I received the phone call from my Dr that altered my life permanently. She confirmed that I had Hemochromatosis. Now I was looking it up and wondering just what was going to happen. She informed me that I'd need regular blood withdraws to manage my iron levels. So off to the vampires I went. My everyday life for the most part is normal. Still have fatigue and arthritis but now I have hope that things will get better soon.
