Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) is not contagious. It is a rare inflammatory muscle disease that primarily affects older adults. IBM is characterized by progressive muscle weakness and atrophy, causing difficulty in mobility and daily activities. Although the exact cause of IBM is unknown, it is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors. IBM is not transmitted through contact or exposure to affected individuals.
