How did all start?
It started when I was really young. I remember playing and having to stop and run to the restroom and staying in there for hours in pain. My mother would take me to the hospital and they would say that I had a uti.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes I have been diagnosed. Over 30 years.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Urologist. Diet.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Hydroxyzine and azo
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Crohn's and ulcerative colitis medicines Causing ic flares.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
I really don't have a social life and there has been no change in my family life.
What things have you stopped doing?
There is nothing that I have stopped doing.
What do you think about the future?
Medical debt is what I think about in the future and how to stay out of debt.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
Mid 30s. I went gluten free for 3 years and I had no ic symptoms at all but it was hard on my Crohn's disease.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
My condition Doesn't stop me from doing anything.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
My Life is Exhausting.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Don't give up! Find what works for you. You will have bad days but you will also have good day.
