My IBS started just after my mum had passed away I was 11. I thought it was normal as didn't go often but when i did I was either constipated or had diarrhoea. It stayed like that until I was 15. I was then with a friend before school and all of a sudden everything had come away from me without warning.(I had gone over a week without going to the toilet.) A family member got me a doctors appointment where they later wanted to keep an eye on my weight due to them thinking it was that, that had made that happen. I then went back and forward to the doctors for months, them telling me over and over again that it wasn't anything unusual. Around my 18th birthday I had a really bad time with my stomach so I thought enough is enough I need this sorting. I then went back to my doctors and saw a very nice doctor who laid me down on the bed, felt my stomach, send me for blood tests and a scan. She then called me into the surgery a week later, and told me in fact it was IBS. I wasn't given much information on it, so I done most of my own.
