How did all start?
Fever for 3 days, rash started on 3rd day. Took My son(4yrs old) to Local emergency on the 3rd day. Dr stated it was viral but took a Swab of throat for Step.
Had fevers 102°-104.2°
On 5th day got a call from Dr. Stating my son has Strep. Prescribed Amoxicillin.
Still Fever on 6th and 7th day, nothing changed.Took Son to Children's Emergency on 7th Day. Admitted him for Kawasaki Disease. started on IVIG , no Heart complications all tests clear.
Spent 3 night in Children's Hospital.
Today He is back to himself
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes! Went to local Emergency they stated it was viral on 3rd day of fever.
On 7th day of fever took him to Children' s Emergency. They diagnosed right away.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Knowing the Children's Hospital In Winnipeg Mb knows about Kawasaki and diagnosed right away
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Not being able to talk with the cardiologist
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
Everyone seemes to be very supportive!
What things have you stopped doing?
Going to gatherings when someone is sick. Until my son's immune system is back to normal
What do you think about the future?
We will always be cautious

Dont give up! Go with your gut instincts
