Story about Keratoconus .

Keratoconus

I was told by an optician at 18 I had astigmatism.  By 24 I was told I could not get any further correction in my right eye and would have to live with the vision I had.  It wasn't until I was 27 I finally had a diagnosis of keratoconus.  I was unable to have a contact lense fitted to my right eye due to a scar on the cornea.  Apparently a graft was going to be the only option.  As I had good vision in my left eye I did not go ahead with anything.  I have been like this without any real change since.  Since turning 40 I have noticed changes in my vision and have asked for a referral back to the eye Hospital.  Everyone who I know in my age bracket is having changes in their eyesight but it would be good to know that it isn't related to the KC.  It would also be nice to see if there are any new techniques which may help with getting a contact fitted to my worse eye.
