Year Condition Began: 2005

My name is James, I go by Tony. In high school I could always tell that there was something about me a little different but never thought much of it. I always played sports was very active but was always a little behind everyone else. In 2002 I had a motorcycle accident and broke my leg. The doctors think that's what caused the quickness of the onset. After graduating in 2004 things started to get bad pretty quick. It took 2 years for them to diagnose me. I've had multiple surgeries to help with the quality of life. During all of this I married my high school sweetheart and had a beautiful girl. While potty training my baby girl in 2014 she had an accident on the hardwood floor and from the cleaner my wife used I slipped and broke my femur. Sounds horrible but it actually saved my life. I had no clue I had Celiac disease not knowing, my body was actually shutting down and completely anemic the doctors told me that I had about 1-2 months left before I would have went to sleep and I wouldn't have woken up. Funny how God works. After that happened before the doctors went in to fix my leg they told me there was a good chance that I wouldn't walk again. I told them to do what ever was needed to give me a chance thats all I asked for. After living in the hospital for 2 months I relearned how to walk with a walker. The doctors said it would be a minimum of 6-8 months before I walked with a cane again. With in a month an half my walker was in the closet and I was back using my cane. Unfortunately my ex-wife and I had some problems and divorced in 2016.
But I guess after all the ups and downs every day I know I'm blessed, I have a beautiful princess, I'm able to get up and play with her , my ex and myself co-parent as well as expected, and I have joint custody. I guess the way I personally look at things is yes I have had it ruff but unfortunately there is someone who has it worse than I do and worse than them. I just want to make sure that every day I'm doing everything that I can and I live life to the fullest and have as much fun as possible.
