How did all start?
Dropping everything in 2004. Over the years I got sicker and sicker.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes.I waited a week for the test results but searched for answers for 15 years.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
I have only been on Plaquenil however I was only on it 3 days and had a bad reaction. Awaiting to see Rhuematologist.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Trying to stay out of bed and move as much as I can.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Dealing with fatigue and pain.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
My social life is nothing like it used to be I have no friends and dont go anywhere.I hardly do anything with my family anymore because I am always sick.
What things have you stopped doing?
Working, cooking and cleaning like I used to, playing outdoor with my kids,smiling and brushing my hair and doing my makeup.
What do you think about the future?
I think I will only get worse.I know I will.However I know I will dig deep and find strength to go on.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
Every year is great because I am with my family every day.We have our ups and downs but I am content with everything I have been dealt with in life.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
I would like to go to college and finish my degree and become a Substance Abuse Counselor.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Rollercoasters...always go up..but always come down.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Keep your head up, do what the doctor tells you too, take care of your body, do what makes you happy and dont stress over the things you cannot change.
