Many lyme sufferers don't remember a tick bite and there are a lot of cases between relatives or close people... waht do you think
Listening to many experts, studying biology and reading much Published research, I am brought to the opinion that it is 100% not contagious (nor hereditary if that is what you possibly mean!). I do however, see that there maybe a possibility of a higher susceptibility in family members as holidays/outdoor pursuits may be done as a family. Thus resulting in it being more likely the whole family may be bitten by lyme carrying ticks.
It is not a foolproof statement, but it is unwise to believe it is transmitted through any pathway except the ones that have been proven.
My Lyme Dr. told me Lyme disease is an STD.
Sexually transmited disease you mean?
I believe it can be contagious via STD and via birth.
Yes I do, it is a spirochete after all like Syphilis! It is definitely transmitted from mother to child.
"capable of being transmitted by bodily contact with an infected person or object: contagious diseases."
Borrelia can penetrate any organ of the body, it is the fastest organising in the body and most definatley is STD , congenital , and if two cuts are open and touch.
It is a spirochete bacteria that can change its form three times. It can cloak its self from the immune system by shedding antigens that confuse the killer cells.
Borrelia is in the blood supply...not screened, in transplant organs... Not screened.
the tests that are used are only 30-45% accurate.
One should "never remove ticks with bare hands and use disinfectant on the wound" is the advice...I wonder why if it is not contagious.
There are people out there that persist in writing rubbish like RSW in order to divert the truth of this pandemic.
