A Multiple Chemical Sensitivity interview , Achalasia, Asthma, Fibromyalgia, Glutathione Synthetase Deficiency, Porphyria.

JLMcK's interview

How did all start?

I got sprayed with Monitor, an OrganoPhosphate insectiside while surveying a potato farm in 1996.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

I have multiple diagnosis. Following the expisure I saw 8 specialists who diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia, and asthma, despite my increasing chemical sensitivity. Because no one cautioned me to avoid all toxins my sensitivity escalated until 2004, when one of my specialists infirmed me I had it, sent me home to die with a prognosis of 2 months to 2 years to live and told me he was dropping me as a patient. He scrubbed my records.

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

Asthma, chronic fatigue, fibro, lymphodenopathy, lymphadema, Toxic Injury, chemical hypersensitivity, porphyria, irritable bowel, interstitial cystitus, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, internal hemorrage, peristalsys, liver disease, kidney disease, kidney stones, hypothermia, alzheimer's, autism, brain damage, encephalopathy, my blood was coagulating in my veins there for a while, and a whole host of other shitty-ass side effects from pesticide poisoning that are too numerous to mention.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

Eliminating all dietary and environmental toxins.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Neighbors that think their convenience is more important than your life. Authorities who are bigoted and think you're a faker. That includes western medicine practitioners and technicians in general.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

Because of my position in the community I had thousands of aquaintances and probably 20 good friends. They're all gone. A number of my family members have targeted me and "tested me" by exposing me deliberately to fragranced and toxic products. Of my immediate family members, I been treated to scirn, derision, and disbelief, overcome eventually by the weight of the evidence. I have been isolated. People can't come unless they do a thorough detox protocol. Most people don't want to do that. I am transitioning to a wilderness property. It took me 4 years, living in the wilderness in random places to find it.

What things have you stopped doing?

Everything in public spaces or where there are other people. I was even forced into being imprisoned in my home by neighbor's use of pesticide. I lost my jobs, my gardens, my livestock, my horses, my poultry. I couldn't even go outside of my own house. For a few of those years I lost cognizance, the ability to talk, to get out of bed, and to care for myself.

What do you think about the future?

I am recovering! I bought this property as far from pesticides as I can get and I'm starting over.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

Before I got pesticided in 1996. I was singing on Worship team, training dogs and horses, raising sheep, spinning and weaving, working with my husband in his surveying business, teaching school, and running our farm. I actively supported our two children to folliw their dreams for theur career paths.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

I'm no longer that person. It doesn't matter.

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

I am recovering!

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Just go forward. Listen to your body. Any doctor that thinks he knows you better than you do is an arrogant fool. Most want to keep you sick. If they heal you, they lose a customer. Don't let doctors keep you sick.
