I was over exposed at my work place yo formaldehyde 5 years ago
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Me and my co worker basically diagnosed ourselves, the medical community knows nothing about it
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
I did go to a naturopath Dr, ahe did understand and did her best to help me. The best thing she did was explain my liver beibg clogged with too many chemicals, and that detoxing it would help. She told me about sweating, that the toxins get stuck in my liver, then go to my fat cells.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Sweating in an infrared sauna is the best deodorizer for the body
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Being out in life. I can make my house safe, but the outside world is loaded with chemicals. Air freshners, and any kind of fragrance are my worst lately. It was new carpet, and new co friction, still is, it's just now advanced to fragrance
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
I'm pretty lucky, my friends and family believe me and are very supportive. They do whatever to make me comfortable.
What things have you stopped doing?
It is hard to go most places. I'm very reticent to go out. I have to know it will be ok. I have a mask I can wear. It's very embarrassing, on top of not pleasant to wear. I hate I'm not normal amymore
What do you think about the future?
I'm not sure, I'm luckier then most. I have the opportunity to have two homes, one in the woods in Montana, the other near the desert in Az. I also can afford an infrared sauna in my house. My future is ok, but not easy.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
Every year up until this last 6 months. I've been able to be active in all things even with MCS. It hasn't gotten to me to incapacitate my life. 6 months ago it took hold in a different manner. It's made life wayore challenging a d difficult
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Live life like I always did. Active socially, physically. Travelling, going anywhere without a second thought
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Active, vibrant, happy ,tons of friends
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Do your homework. Google everything possible and then some. Tell people what's wrong with you. The more we talk the more people will know, the easier it might bevome
