MEN2A

Jan 18, 2016

By: Mary

I am 39 with a loving husband and two young kids and unfortunately MEN2A.  I was diagnosed in the fall of 2015.  I had recurrent hyperparathyroidism that I couldn't get any doctor to take seriously despite being a physician myself.  I finally found good doctors at SLU and Wash U and got the surgery I needed.  I am so grateful for my wonderful family, friends, and physicians.  And I am beyond grateful that both my kids tested negative.  I struggle with anxiety about my future and feeling alone with this disease.  I am also currently suffering from recurrent laryngeal nerve damage, which has its own set of issues.  I would love to connect with other MEN2A patients and caregivers.
