Stressed

Jun 1, 2017

By: Tessa

I truly believe stress was my trigger. I first noticed symptoms in November of 2013, my first mouth blister on Thanksgiving day to be exact. I had a lot of dental work recently; an incomplete root canal, so a 2nd root canal on same tooth, 2 new crowns. My father had passed away the previous June. I was still getting physical therapy from my 3rd car accident in 4 years. I was under a lot of stress and did have several panic attacks. Now I added the stress of mouth blisters that wouldn't go away and numerous dental/doctor appointments to try to figure them out. It was over a year until the blistering finally stopped. My periodontist couldn't figure out why, but best we figure was when I finally got my anxiety under control with medication. I still have redness of my gums, which I control with niacin, and the redness does get worse during allergy season, but I have been 2+ years without blisters!!!

Looking back I have always had inflamed gums, so I don't know if I have always had MMP and the stress just triggered it, but I am thankful to be where I am compared to so many.
