How did all start?

I had a tumor in 2006 when I was 17. I chickened out of a surgery and let it grow until 2009 when I finally had to have it removed due to size. I had surgery in December 2009.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

Yes, I was diagnosed with 3 Benign phyllodes tumors within a week of surgery.

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

I haven't seen any specialists although recently began seeing surgical oncologist for more recent masses.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

Not applicable

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Multiple occurrences.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

No changes

What things have you stopped doing?

Nothing

What do you think about the future?

I worry that I will continue to get tumors. My recent NMO diagnosis is more concerning though

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Keep up with all your medical records, stay on top of your doctors and advocate for yourself.
