Neil's interview
How did all start?
Noticed abnormalities on right chest when approximately 10.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Self diagnosis after finding it on internet. Seen GP and plastic surgeon and was confirmed.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
I have had one procedure of fat transfer but unfortunately was not successful due to my build. I am currently in the process of having a mould done of left side and implant be made for surgery.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Social media (Facebook page) finding others on same position as myself.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Confidence.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
After me informing them of PS I have had support needed.
What things have you stopped doing?
Nothing.
What do you think about the future?
I'm looking forward to having my confidence in the way I look.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
I don't feel I have had any bad years. Although I have PS I have livedy life to the fullest.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Take my children swimming.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
No regrets.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
As much as I have felt that people notice and judge. People don't they are far to busy or wrapped up in their own world to notice and judge you.
