How did all start?

Horrible periods from the very beginning. Heavy bleeding, excruciating pain, hormonal issues.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

I was diagnosed in 2013 at the age of 19, and had been in treatment and trying to find a diagnosis since 2010, age 16.

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

Mostly birth controls all of which i've reacted to and had to be taken off of. I'm currently un-treated.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

Nothing, only pain medication.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Being intolerant to every hormones used to treat PCOS.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

I lost a lot of friends, family sort of think I just complain a lot.

What things have you stopped doing?

I had to leave university, I had to stop doing a lot of things I loved. I lost a lot of jobs and opportunities because of it.

What do you think about the future?

I'm unsure.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

2011-2013 when I was able to handle school and my illness.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

Finish university, grad school, study and be free.

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

I have a demon uterus.

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Don't be scared to try many doctors. Try as many as you can until one listens to you.
