How did all start?
It all started in 1996 with sever abdominal pain, ear flare, nose flare and could not find out why
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
It took 15 years to be diagnosed
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Well started with ENT and Gastrointestinal checks pathologist then thought i was psycho and finally rheumy.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
The knowledge obtained via Rp group which helps most of the time to identify if something is due to RP or not and how to treat and protect my self
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Fighting on my own and trying to convince Drs that i am in real pain and not imaging
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
Well at the beginning they were worried then thought i ws psychotic due to the Drs mentioning that. Then i decided to ignore all and just do my own research and not dependent on anyone. As for social life i must admit that this has been reduced to the minimum since i cannot say if iwill be able to attend an event or visit a friend ahead of time. Due to the often ups and downs i avoid setting appointments.
What things have you stopped doing?
I used to be an athlete but due to my ankylosing spondylitis i had to drop off any activity that can cause an inflammation to my sacroiliac joints as not to mention my vertebra which has multy diac level bulgings
What do you think about the future?
Just take it day by day
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
The years that my boys came to file. My love my everything on those 3 lovely boys
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
I would have studied as a physiotherapist and travel more to places I love
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Painful
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Just take each day as your last day and try to enjoy every single minute
