Deafness...no hearing aids, no hearing at all.

Dec 22, 2015

By: Dirk

I'm use to be deaf since 25 yeras now, before I was severe hard of hearing due to otitis media as a baby. I'm legally deaf since 2006. Both ears have sensoneural profound deafness (90-100 dB loss). I have to wear very powerful hearing aids in both ears all the time, so I can hear some what. I read from lips, use sign language. It's isolating in the hearing world, so I cannot understand any information through loudspeaker, or can react properly in case of an emergency because I don't get any informations, at all. Being deaf is very challenging. I have just a few friends, mostly deaf.
