Cipro Toxicity

In 2005 I went to an after hours clinic for a bladder infection. I was given an antibiotic,  suddenly had other issues and went back to the same clinic. Was given another round of Cipro.  

I was exhausted,  unable to get out of bed, in pain in all joints, muscles, just everywhere.  I was overwhelmed , severly depressed, high anxiety, unable to sleep, diarrhea every day, I was so sick and could not get answers. I went to every specialist, had test after test and no answers.Unexplained fever all the time.   I definitely was  not the same person! 

Some doctors were sympathetic and really wanted to help me. Others were condisending and treated me like a hypochondriac.

But after months I was told I had Fibromialgia/ Fibromyositis Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. No real answers. 

Skip forward 11 years later I finally know what happened to me! I was poisoned by Ciprofloxacin. I stumbled across information about Fluoroquinolones and there were others telling the same experience.  I requested medical and drug records to confirm. There it was, Cipro, twice!  

Its been years of not knowing what happened to me. Years of lost time, family time, special events, ....years of my life stolen! Now that I know without a doubt,  I'm trying to detox my liver with ginger root tea with freshly squeezed lemons and honey.  Also homeopathic products from the health food store.

I'm angry! Pissed! These pharmaceutical companies know it's a harmful and dangerous medicine. It was created in the 80s to fight anthrax!  Fluoroquinolones should never be used for minor illnesses. But since only a small percentage of people are drastically affected,  they don't care. 

My daughter was cheated out of having a mom during the acute time, which was abut a year. I lost my job , unable to work. I was so sick with no relief from it all that I had a nervous breakdown. 

I'm not well now, but I'm better than I was at the beginning of all this. Im stable with anti-inflammatory and pain meds.  I have to rest when I get too tired, or in too much pain. I'm limited to the activities I can do. Life is a roller coaster, good days, bad days.

I wonder if I will ever fully recover. 

There are Fluoroquinolone Toxicity groups on Facebook. It's validating to find others who share the same story. There are others who have known for some time that they were poisoned and they can help answer questions. 

I was told by an attorney that they are no longer investigating or filing lawsuits for fluoroquinolone cases. 

Don't expect doctors to agree with you, or admit that these fluoroquinolones have horrible side effects for people.

Most Doctors will protect the Pharmaceuticals. There may be some doctors willing to listen and perhaps research and hopefully not prescribe to their patients any longer.

Recently the FDA has issued stronger warnings about the fluoroquinolones. They are also Black Box listed.
