My story started as a 20 year old. I got pregnant and gave birth in 2002. I then spent the next 4 years thinking I am nuts because it didn't matter where I was, I broke out in a rash when showering. During a yearly skin survey for skin cancer, and mentioned it my doctor. He did the water test, and informed me I have aquagenic urticaria. I tried Claritin and it didn't help nor did benadryl. They put me on Attarax, and it worked. When I got pregnant again in 2008, I started reacting to my own sweat. End of last year, my medicine stopped working. We had to experiment for a new dosage which I now take 100mg twice a day, but it works. My kids have spent their lives learning to keep water away from me. I keep a close eye on the weather. I sleep during the day in hot weather and keep a day schedule when cool. I try to avoid rain. It's been 15 years and I'm still learning how to deal with it.
